Changes to RED Line Shopper Shuttle Go Into Effect Monday, March 7Feb 23, 2016
Salem-Keizer Transit is changing four RED Line shopper shuttle trips. Changes go into effect Monday, March 7. The Keizer Monday afternoon trips will travel to the Fred Meyer located on Market St. instead of the Fred Meyer on Broadway St. The West Salem Thursday afternoon trips will travel to the Fred Meyer located on Commercial St. instead of Safeway on Edgewater and travel to the Walmart located on Turner Rd. instead of Fred Meyer on Broadway St.
See the updated shopper shuttle schedule and map for more details.
Additionally, Salem-Keizer Transit has clarified RED Line’s rules of the road:
You can bring one additional passenger on the RED Line, regardless of his or her age. Your guest must pay the fare on both the RED Line dial-a-ride and shopper shuttle. You can also bring a personal care attendant. The personal care attendant must have the same pick-up and drop-off location as the passenger. An attendant on the dial-a-ride rides for free. An attendant on the shopper shuttle pays the $1.25 fare.
To make sure there is room for all passengers on the RED Line, there is a four bag maximum (bags must be no larger than a standard paper shopping bag). Personal care attendants can help carry bags, but cannot have an additional four bags. Drivers can only assist carrying bags to the door when there is no one else on the vehicle and they can see the vehicle at all times.
