Call for Art

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity for high school students to showcase their creativity and make a meaningful impact in our community. Cherriots is seeking talented high school students in Salem and Keizer to design a special bus wrap that will celebrate our dedicated bus operators during March 2025. We're looking for designs that creatively tell the story of our Bus Operators and how they keep our city moving.

This project is part of our "Heritage and History in Transit" initiative, which aims to recognize the diverse cultures and communities we serve. The winning design will be featured on a Cherriots bus, traveling throughout Salem and Keizer and seen by thousands of people.

Submission Requirements and Selection Process

• Theme: "Connecting Cultures, Creating Community" 
  • Creatively tell the story of our Bus Operators and how they keep our city moving.
• Requirements:
  • Original digital artwork (no AI-generated art)
  • Artwork must prominently and legibly include the tagline "Connecting Cultures, Creating Community" 
• Submissions should be scalable to fit the dimensions of a bus wrap. For a better understanding of how art work will translate to a bus wrap and other specifications, review the below bus wrap template (available in PDF and Adobe Illustrator).

• Submission Deadline: January 14, 2025

• All submissions will be reviewed by the Cherriots Board of Directors DEI Subcommittee.
• The winning artist's artwork will be featured on a bus beginning in March 2025 and remain on the bus for several months.
