A rolling tribute to the immigrant experience in America

Cherriots is proud to announce the launch of a specially designed bus wrap in honor of National Immigrant Heritage and History. The vibrant full-vehicle wrap, created by an agency employee, celebrates the diverse contributions of immigrants to American society, culture, and history.

Amelia Crawford, benefits and leave coordinator for Cherriots, said that when she was creating the design, she wanted to capture the physical and emotional challenges that immigrants face, shining a light on their incredible resilience and hope.

“I was motivated by a deep respect for these journeys and a desire to honor the strength and courage of those who make them,” said Crawford. “At the heart of it all, we are all looking for the same things: love, acceptance, and a sense of belonging.”

The Cherriots Board of Directors launched its "Heritage and History in Transit" initiative earlier this year to transform the daily rider experience into a vibrant, educational journey by featuring bus wraps that celebrate and raise awareness about recognized heritage and history months. In February, Cherriots introduced a full-wrap bus in honor of Black History Month. The next wrap will be in September to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

The bus will operate on multiple routes for the next several months, serving as a rolling tribute to the immigrant experience.

The back or tail of the bus features the artist’s statement:

"This represents the physical journey that so many people take with the hope of acceptance and love when they arrive at their destination."

Cherriots invites all riders and community members to join in this journey of celebration and recognition. Take a picture with the bus, post it to social media, and be sure to tag us (@cherriots). We would love to hear from you! To learn more, visit our Heritage and History Initiative page.
